My Story

I am Sonja Tarrago, MD—a physician, life coach, and healthcare technology leader dedicated to helping physicians and healthcare leaders find greater clarity, purpose, and alignment in their work and lives.

I trained through the Wayfinders Life Coach program and have spent more than 25 years guiding people toward wellness, growth, and meaningful change—first as a pediatrician and now through coaching.

"Thirteen years ago, at the height of a thriving pediatric career, a breast cancer diagnosis stopped me in my tracks — and changed everything."

That experience became a turning point—an invitation to reflect more deeply on purpose, identity, and how we live and work in demanding professions like medicine.

After moving across the country, I spent the following years intentionally rebuilding—supporting my own healing through yoga, mindfulness, and coaching while expanding my work in healthcare technology and clinical care. These experiences deepened my understanding of the challenges physicians face today: navigating complex systems, evolving identities, and the pressure to do meaningful work while sustaining their own wellbeing.

My coaching draws on this unique combination of clinical experience, leadership insight, and the science of behavior change, paired with genuine curiosity and respect for each person’s story.

Coaching with me is not about quick fixes. It is about creating space to think clearly, reconnect with what matters most, and move forward with intention—whether you are navigating leadership, career transitions, relationships, or questions of purpose.

If you are a physician or healthcare leader with limited time and energy, you want to work with someone who understands both the demands of medicine and the complexity of modern healthcare systems.

You want someone who gets you—and gets it.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to schedule a discovery conversation.
